Travel Plans are provided as part of the planning process. All the various large developments of recent years in West Monkton have had one, but with one exception they are all over 5 years old and therefore finished.

The only remaining live travel plans are the ones for Hartnells Tranche 1 and 2. If you are a resident of Hartnells you are entitled to claim free travel vouchers which covers limited period bus passes, but also equipment for more walking and cycling to reduce dependency on the car such as wet weather walking and cycling equipment, including umbrellas and torches.

‘6.13 The Green Travel Voucher will enable residents to be reimbursed up to the stated amount of the cost of purchase of the following items: bicycle, cycle clothing and accessories, map, alarm, torch, umbrella, waterproof trousers, seasonal bus / railway passes (not single tickets), home office desk, computer equipment (including tablet computers), motorcycle equipment. Green Travel Vouchers will be valid for 12 months following purchase of the dwelling.’

‘6.15 Green Travel Vouchers in the range of £100 to £250 per plot will be provided for up to the first three tenures over the TP monitoring period. The vouchers must be claimed within 12 months of occupation (for the first three tenures) whilst the TP is ‘active’. The voucher amount relates to the number of bedrooms as summarised below:

• One bed = £100 per tenure;
• Two bed = £150 per tenure;
• Three bed = £200 per tenure; and
• Four+ bed = £250 per tenure.’

What this means is that if there have been no more than two previous owners, and you have lived in your house for less than 12 months, you can claim your green travel plan vouchers.
