M5 Motorway Resurfacing – Summer 2026

From National Highways, regarding upcoming closures for resurfacing works between M5 J23 & J25. Work will be undertaken in phases overnight, with clearly signed diversion routes in order to try and keep disruption to a minimum:

1️⃣Phase 1 (14 June – 14 July):
Resurfacing of an 7km stretch of carriageway (all three southbound lanes) between Junction 24 and Junction 25 southbound, including the Junction 24 entry slip road.
2️⃣Phase 2 (19 July – 30 July):
Resurfacing and structural repairs (all three southbound lanes) between Junction 23 and Junction 24 southbound, including the Junction 24 southbound exit slip road.
3️⃣Phase 3 (2 August – 6 August):
Resurfacing and structural repairs (all three northbound lanes) between Junction 24 and Junction 23.
We will start installing the cones and signage at 19:00 nightly with the full closure then in place from 20:00 – 06:00.
