What is your main responsibility?I am the WMPC representative on the Spittle Trust. The Spittle Trust run the four Alms Houses that are in the Parish which are homes for four ladies who have a connection with the Parish. I attend meetings called by the Trustees and I take information and requests back to the Parish Council, to update and to ask them to consider any needs for support.
What is the most rewarding aspect of being in your role at WMPC?Knowing that in some small way I can help in the decisions of the Trust and that they also support the ladies that live in the Alms Houses. I feel great pride when I see the Parish Council succeed in helping parishioners and supporting worthy local causes.
What has surprised you the most about being part of the WMPC team?Having been in many different roles during my long time as a Parish Councillor not very much surprises me, but it may surprise readers to know the extent of the responsibilities that are expected of a volunteer group, such as WMPC. For example, training is an essential part of being a Parish Councillor which is taken in your own time though the Parish Council does pay for the courses.
