What is your main responsibility?
I am the newest member of the Parish Council team. My responsibility is to raise funds for a Pavilion to house the Poppy of Honour. This means raising awareness to bring you to be one of the heroes who joins the Poppy of Honour family. It’s through supporters’ help that we will ‘bring the Poppy Home’ to its final resting place. What is the most rewarding aspect of being in your role at WMPC?
My role has brought me into contact with the local community – I only moved to Taunton just under 3 years ago. It enables me to give something back. The West Monkton area is such a lovely place to live, you are all so friendly and helpful. I feel very much at home.

What has surprised you the most about being part of the WMPC team?
Having never been a Councillor before I was pleasantly surprised by the range of wonderful volunteers we have that help look after our community. The Parish Council’s work is far more in depth than I first thought – always striving to look after the environment in which we all live and making plans for the future of its residents. We are also hear to listen to what you have to say.
