More #MeetTheTeamMonday where we introduce you to members of the West Monkton Parish Council Team, giving you insight into who they are and what they’re involved with by posing these questions:
Next up is WMPC Parish Clerk Amy Shepherd….
I am the Clerk (Proper Officer) and Responsible Financial Officer for the Parish Council. That simply means that I manage the employees and the day to day activities of the Parish Council, oversee the delivery of its many projects, ensure compliance with statutory obligations and manage the councils finances – compiling the annual budget and ensuring audit compliance.
I find many aspects of my role rewarding, including the versatility of the role and what I do, always learning new skills, the support and sense of community in our Parish but most all the proactiveness and the commitment of our Parish Councillors and WMPC employees who always respond to any idea, suggestion or project with positivity and commitment to ensure that we can collectively work to improve the lives of all who live, visit or work in our Parish.
I am mostly surprised by what our Parish Council, with a comparatively small budget can achieve – working together, with our community, challenges, problems or issues can be overcome and events, ideas and projects are achievable.
