MH1 Public Open Space Transfer – Completed

After protracted negotiations the Parish Council is pleased to report that the MH1 Public Open Space transfer completed on 1st July.
The Parish Council now owns the POS land, and the Management Company that was created when the houses were built, will maintain the public open spaces with the support of Managing Agents Saxons.
The Developers (Persimmon Homes and Redrow Homes) are legally required to complete the remaining remedials including play area remedials, bench repairs and some tree management works within 6 months of the transfer.
As landowners, the Parish Council is able to elect up to three Parish Councillors to be Directors on the Management Company, the remainder (being up to six) of the Directors on the Management Company will be homeowners who are members of the Management Company.
Collectively the Directors will make decisions about the ongoing maintenance of the Public Open Space.
All homeowners, affected by the transfer, were invited to a welcome meeting in June in preparation for the transfer when representatives of the Managing Agents and Parish Council were present to answer questions.
Saxons will be in contact with Homeowners again now that the transfer has completed.
If you have any queries regarding the transfer or the information provided in this article, please contact Amy Shepherd, Clerk of the Parish Council (clerk@westmonktonparishcouncil.gov.uk).
