Meet Candy Sully, the new Volunteer Coordinator for Maidenbrook Country Park & The Somerset Wood.

We are delighted to introduce, Candy Sully, as our new Volunteer Coordinator for Maidenbrook Country Park & The Somerset Wood. Funded by The National Lottery, Candy has recently taken on this role to support our valuable, existing group of volunteers. Her remit will additionally see her reaching out to new volunteers from the local community, to support the varied and exciting projects going on at the country park.

Alongside her efforts to promote the park to a prospective volunteer community, Candy will work to encourage use of the park for wildlife and outdoor education and recreation, helping communities to explore and discover the wonders of the natural environment available to them.

Candy comes to us with a wealth of enthusiasm and is set to help drive forward the day-to-day activities at the park. “Maidenbrook Country Park & The Somerset Wood are a little-known gem, nestled between the Quantock and Blackdown Hills. It is my aim to see this area enjoyed, supported and valued by local communities who can reap the benefit of this tranquil, wooded parkland right on their doorstep. I really look forward to engaging with our volunteers and members of the community alike in this great, outdoor space. What better office could there be?”
