In readiness for winter, when we know health and care services become busier, NHS Somerset is rolling out a series of drop in events across Somerset at local GP practices to help Somerset residents better understand how to use the NHS app.

At the drop in events, we will be able to help residents register to use the app that help patients;

• Access their patient records
• Search for information on conditions and treatments
• Check any symptoms you may have when you are ill
• Ask your GP for medical advice via an online consultation
• Order a repeat prescription
• Find out about local health services near you such as your pharmacy, mental health and urgent care services

Some of the drop-in sessions will be held as part of existing clinics such as flu clinics and some will be held as stand-alone events.

We will also be able to show people the NHS Somerset Apps Library which has health and wellbeing apps to support mental health, diabetes, hypertension, fitness, family health and much more. The website rates every app based on usability, how well it works (clinical assurance) and how the apps look after patient data, so people can feel confident in the app they are choosing.
