Community Champion Mandy Cooper – Rest In Peace

All at West Monkton Parish Council were devastated to hear the news last week of the sudden passing of our wonderful community champion, Mandy Cooper. Please scroll further down this post to see the statement from Mandy’s daughter Courtney, and for details of the upcoming memorial service to celebrate her life, to which anyone who knew Mandy is very welcome to attend.

Mandy’s warm heart, caring nature and big personality have left a big hole – she cared passionately for her local community, particularly our young people. Participants in our Youth Cafe, Community Cafe and Bingo sessions all felt her warmth and friendly support, and when it came to our events both at the Brittons Ash Community Hall and at Maidenbrook Country Park, Mandy was always one of the first to volunteer, often alongside Courtney, and was always one of the last to go home.

Mandy’s positive and dedicated impact on our local community will live with us, and will inspire us all to continue making a difference to the lives of those who reside here in West Monkton, Monkton Heathfield and Bathpool.

From Courtney:
It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of Mandy Cooper. 🕊️❤️

Mandy was a fierce character, an incredibly strong woman, a loving mum and someone with a wicked sense of humour and a heart of gold. She was always there to help others, offering kindness, support and laughter whenever it was needed.

Her loss will be felt deeply by her family, friends and the wider community. She leaves behind countless memories, stories and laughter that will live on for years to come.

A memorial service to celebrate Mandy’s life will be held at the crematorium on 5th November 12:40. In keeping with Mandy’s wishes, we ask everyone attending to wear bright colours to celebrate her life and the vibrant character she was. 🌈❤️

Rest peacefully, Mandy. Gone far too soon, loved by so many, and never forgotten. 🕊️❤️

Love you always and forever mumma❤️

Courtney
