Join the Glow Ride -A cycle ride asking for safer streets

On Thursday 22 October at 18:30 TACC organises a Cycling UK Glow Ride.
Join us opposite On Your Bike Taunton, Station Approach, as we light up the night, calling for safer streets for women to cycle. Because when it’s safer for women, it’s safer for everyone. Bring your lights and come glow with us!

The purpose of the annual Cycling UK Glow Rides is to shine a light on the need for safer streets and better cycle routes. Together, we can show decision makers that more needs to be done to make cycling feel safe and accessible for everyone.

The Cycling UK Glow Rides turn an ordinary bike ride into a spectacular night-time adventure. Think glowing bikes, colourful lights, reflective gear and a whole lot of fun as riders come together to light up the streets. Whether you’re a regular cyclist, getting back on your bike, or simply looking for something different to do, Glow Rides are a brilliant way to ride, meet people and enjoy your local area after dark.

The event is free but we ask you to register to keep you posted for this event. The first 30 people who register receive a free mini cowbell to attach to their bike and a string of fairy lights. We’ll cycle around town. Both women and men are welcome but the ride is not suitable for children. The whole cycle ride will take about an hour.

We look forward to seeing you on 22 October!

TACC-Survey: Tell us what you think

TACC is conducting a survey to help us understand what is going well with cycling in general and the cycle infrastructure in particular in the Taunton area, and where improvements are needed.

The information you provide will serve as input for our current and future campaigns. We pay special attention to road safety, the joys of cycling, connectivity, cycle parking provision and road design.

We would appreciate it very much if you could complete our questionnaire because your views are really important to us. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/tacc2026

We are looking for volunteers

If you are passionate about cycling and want to help make our roads safer for everyone, we would love to hear from you. Volunteering with TACC is a great way to support safer cycling initiatives and contribute to a more cycle-friendly community.

If you would like to find out more, or simply have an informal chat about what is involved, please drop us a line. https://thetacc.org.uk/contact
